Lessons

We offer a wide variety of lessons to suit all ages and abilities;

• Introductory assessment lessons
• Group lessons
• Private and semi private lessons
• Lead rein lessons for our younger riders.

After your assessment lesson we will discuss the best program to suit your needs and plans for the future.

Private and Semi Private lessons are a great way to get started, or if you wish to develop a certain aspect of your riding. They are often used in tandem with group lessons to give your riding an extra boost.

Our priority is to provide a safe learning environment, where your riding and general horse management skills will develop at a pace that suits you.

For more experienced riders we run a full and varied program of lessons, from dressage, show jumping and x-country schooling sessions and clinics, to Musical drill ride lessons!

Condidence Building Lessons

Here at Tumpy Green we understand that not everyone is confident either being around horses or riding. We offer a very supportive learning environment, allowing you to set the pace. May be you are thinking of returning to riding after a long break, or you want to build you confidence over jumps. We hold both private and group lessons aimed a building your confidence in tandem with your skills and partnership with your horse.

Hacks

We offer a wide range of hacks, from 1/2 hour to full day hacks. Hacks offer a great opportunity to put the skills you have learnt in your lessons into practise. The wide range of horses at Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre means that we will be able to match your riding skills to the most suitable equine partner.

So over to you to make your choice, from a quite walk and trot hack, to a Pub ride, or how about incorporating some x-country schooling!

Facilities

We are very proud of the facilities we have developed here at Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre. Facilities including our x-country course are available for hire, or for use with our experienced instructors.

Pony Club

As a Pony Club Centre we can offer a full program of events throughout the year. The Pony Club offers a structured program for children under 21. There are rallies, competitions, unmounted badge evenings to name but a few. The Pony Club offers a great way for children to learn new riding skills, how to look after a pony, make new friends and have a great deal of fun.

Throughout the school holidays we run a program of fun days and half days. Here is just a taste of our program;

Summer Camps

One of the highlights of the year at Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre is Summer Camp! Summer Camp offer a great chance for you to improve yoru riding and stable management skills while having a great deal of fun in great company. We offer a full and varied program that is suitable and children, complete beginners and experienced riders.  Full details of Summer Camp is available in the Events & Promotions section of our web site.

BHS Training & Free NVQ courses

We currently have funding to offer over 16's free NVQ training (national diplomas), levels 1 - 3. NVQ's can be completed full part time. Funding is only available for a limited period, so please get in contact with us as soon as possible to discuss your needs.

At the centre, we have excellent training facilities, and can help you build a program around your commitments. The courses are suitable for anyone who wishes to study horse care in the work place. You will study a range of topics that will enable you to work safely and effectively with horses. The topics studied will include assisting with routine stable management and husbandry tasks, safe handling practices, riding, recognition of tack, its use and cleaning etc.

All assessments are practically based while working on the yard, there are no exams at the end of the programme. Time will be spent building a portfolio to provide evidence of your knowledge.

The programme allows you to work at your own pace within a commercial environment. The course is 1 year long for levels 1 and 2 and 2 years for level 3. For more information please contact Renee at the centre.

Birthday Parties & Celebrations

Why not let our experinced staff take all the worry out of planning your special event. We can tailor the package to suit your individual needs. We can cater for small or large groups, experienced riders or complete beginners. So whether you want party games on horse back, or a celebration hack we can help.

Competitions

We run a full program of competitions here at Tumpy Green, from our Annual Summer Show, Gymkhana Competitions, Christmas Shows,  to Confidence building fun shows.  Details of our current program can be found on the Events and Promotions section of our web site.

We also offer horse and trailer hire to a selection of local shows, contact us directly for more details. 

Helpers Points System

At Tumpy Green Equestrian Centre we value the effort and hard work of our helpers. We operate a points system for helpers once they have reached the required standard in horse management.

Signed up helpers can gain 2 points for helping for a full day or 1 point for half a day. Once they have earnt 12 points they can be exchanged for a group lesson.

The Pony Club is a great way to gain the skills needed to join our points scheme. Membership of the Pony Club also includes free Third Party Personal Liability Insurance.
